Lego Wagons

Produced in the Moel Rhos works for the director’s nephew and niece… 3D printed wagons with a Lego deck for the kids to build on! The solebars are ‘borrowed’ from Rik Bennet’s Southwold short-wheelbase van and they are nicely robust.

The couplings are designed to be compatible with those on those bargain Tesco construction trains.

But it turns out the Mk1 coupler isn’t 100% compatible… further R&D is underway…

Still, they got there in time for Christmas and the kids have been building them into some rather smart carriages for Lego passengers:

SM24 little steam loco

Hi allJust a quick shot from my workbench to show a loco I am building, it is SM24 gauge for my little mine layout to complement the main SM32 line. It is influenced by the two little steamers on the Laxey mine. I am going to blend some influence from a couple of others as well. The photo of the preserved loco here doesn’t reflect how mucky the loco was so it wont be a clean finish, I want to have a mix of the old to new but still a working loco, probably 1950s ish.
The green tank in the photo was a spare part I picked up a few years ago and will be converted into a similar loco for 7/8ths scale.

Merry xmas !!
