SM24 little steam loco

Hi allJust a quick shot from my workbench to show a loco I am building, it is SM24 gauge for my little mine layout to complement the main SM32 line. It is influenced by the two little steamers on the Laxey mine. I am going to blend some influence from a couple of others as well. The photo of the preserved loco here doesn’t reflect how mucky the loco was so it wont be a clean finish, I want to have a mix of the old to new but still a working loco, probably 1950s ish.
The green tank in the photo was a spare part I picked up a few years ago and will be converted into a similar loco for 7/8ths scale.

Merry xmas !!

  1. I think in some views of the site all posts show up with me as author because of the way we post… but I can’t steal the credit for this superb little critter. I’m glad you’ll be adding filth Cain, I’ve seen the replicas at Laxey, they are fascinating little workhorses but I don’t think they’ve ever seen any dirt!
