Having fitted my 0-4-0 loco with working headlights & whistle I did some night running on 6 Nov. along with some LGB company. It works well with signalling. Saturday was mixed running again with 2 LGB & the steam loco “Alice”. LGB tram loco made a guest appearance.
The lamps on Alice are stunning, and the night running pics incredibly atmospheric.
Are the lamps self contained, or is there some amazingly well concealed wiring running to a hidden battery box?
Thanks for your comments Simon. The headlights are modified GRS units with 1.5mm LED’s fitted. The lights are powered direct off the receiver pack via a switch & resistors. I also have an electronic whistle fitted that works direct off a spare channel on the rx so needs no additional power. The wiring is in a hard plastic tube below the boiler.
